I can't help but think how good that car would look without the fins. Sure is pretty either way.

You meant to type “ with bigger fins” , right?

The Biarritz tail is kind of odd. Pretty, but odd.

The normal ‘57 tail is probably more elegant , though I’m not sure it’s better.

I’m not sure how much better the ‘58 Biarritz treatment is. It tidies up some of the excesses, but then throws some gill slits at the wall to see if they’ll stick, and uses almost Thunderbird-ey slots at the exhaust.

Of course, one of my all-time favorite tailfin treatments, the first gen Facel Vega Excellence, is somewhere between the standard ‘57 and the Biarritz:

Without fins? To each their own I suppose

I prefer the Biarritz tail personally. The acute angle of tail is more visually appealing to me than the obtuse angle of the traditional 57 tail. The Facel Vega is a good compromise between the two. If I had to pick a favorite tail however, it would be the 1959 Cadillac tail. The rocket design is excellent.

It’s tricky, because while I definitely think the Biarritz tail is better from the side, I don’t think it qui te manages to wrap it all up neatly from behind - while the normal tail from behind is kind of frumpy.

I like the 59, but I've seen it too much. I haven't quite gone stale in the 60 yet, and the 62 has some interesting fuselage things going on even if it isn't pretty.

No. I meant without fins. The side profile would look kind of like a Corvette without the fins. It would be pretty. The fins are cool too, just not my cup of tea.

I am all in on the color though.

I’d honestly just be happy scoring that $ 7K C4 I saw today with like half the miles of my 10-year old F ocus. How hard would I have to work for that?

I don’t know but the c4 is one of the best money to horsepower ratios on the market!
